List of Private Prosthetic Centres
We know that many of you will be looking to receive treatment for your child from your NHS Limb Centre. Getting private care, particularly for a growing child, can work out as a very expensive option but for some people the benefits outweigh any downsides.
There is never a right or wrong way to work your way through what your child’s options are. Many people feel that they want to explore all possibilities.
An initial consultation does not mean that you have any obligation to use a clinic. Some parents find that they are told exactly the same thing as their NHS Clinic which puts their mind at ease that they are providing the best possible care for their child. Other parents are able to get a good idea of alternative possibilities for their child’s prosthesis which they are able to share with their NHS Prosthetist. For some families the decision to use a private clinic is a very personal one – each journey is very different. It is important to know that you do have options and you can ask questions.
Many of the Private Prosthetic Centres will see you for a consultation for free if you are member of LimbPower. Contact Carly Bauert carly@limbpower.com for more details.
